12 Do California residents have specific privacy rights?

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. 14 How do we collect financial information?

We use third-party processors to collect payment information, such as valid credit card numbers, types, expiration dates or other financial information, to process payments for customer transactions. This information is required to be submitted as part of our checkout process. We receive a receipt of payment with details such as the last 4 digits of the payment card; all payment information is submitted directly to our third-party payment processing partners including Shopify payments and installments, PayPal, Stripe, and Amazon Pay, which use the information to process your payment. The use and storage of that information is governed by the payment processors’ applicable terms of service and privacy policies.
